Biography
Melida Ortega is an experienced litigator, who is passionate about ensuring that her clients receive the best representation there is. She is a Spanish-speaking attorney and is a proud Florida International University College of Law graduate. Melida began her career as a public defender where she represented accused persons in jury trials and honed her courtroom skills. After the Public Defender’s office, Melida litigated family law cases and handled complex divorce cases with high asset values. She also has extensive experience in litigating issues related to time-sharing/custody, relocation, child support, alimony, adoptions, modification proceedings, as well as the termination of parental rights. Melida has since merged her knowledge in criminal defense and family law and now primarily focuses her legal practice on these areas of law.
