Biography
Mr. Cerame is a distinguished attorney with a robust background in various legal domains. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, emphasizing criminology and cultural studies. He furthered his education by earning a Juris Doctor, also Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law.
Before joining DMR Law LLC, Mr. Cerame served as an associate attorney at Colón Serrano Zambrana, LLC., where he originally joined as a legal assistant while attending law school. During his time there, he focused on matters of contracts, estates, property, family, torts, and general civil litigation for individual and corporate clients. He represented various government agencies in administrative forums and handled numerous immigration petitions, including family-based petitions and employment-based visas. Additionally, he was involved in defense teams for civil and criminal proceedings in the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.
Mr. Cerame has also been an integral part of firms specializing in debt collection efforts for various capital management companies.
Mr. Cerame’s legal career is marked by his extensive experience in family immigration, labor and employment law, family law, estates, civil and criminal litigation, and legislative affairs. He has participated in appellate proceedings on all levels of the Puerto Rico state court.
In addition to his courtroom experience, Mr. Cerame has been actively involved in legislative affairs, conducting legal research and drafting opinions and comments for government agencies on legislative bills, as well as assisting in the implementation of agency rulings. His expertise extends to administrative forums, where he has represented government agencies in appeals and other related matters.
